Fusion Career Services is committed to worker health & safety. The protection of workers from injury or occupational disease is an important company objective.

To fulfill this commitment Fusion will comply with the legislative requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Everyone has a role to play in keeping our workplace safe and reducing the risk of injury.

Fusion will make every effort to provide a safe, healthy work environment. We will accomplish this by ensuring safe and healthy work conditions are maintained and that workers work in compliance with safe work practices and procedures.

Every worker will protect his or her own health and safety by working in compliance with the law and by following safe work practices and procedures. Workers are responsible for reporting any unsafe or unhealthy condition to a manager or supervisor.

Commitment to health and safety will form an integral part of our organization, from the president to the workers.

 

Fusion Workplace Harassment Policy

Fusion Career Services believes that all workers have the right to a respectful workplace. All types of workplace harassment, including workplace sexual harassment, are unacceptable and will not be tolerated. A worker that subjects another worker, client, or other person to workplace harassment may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Everyone is expected to uphold this policy and to work together to prevent workplace harassment.

“Workplace harassment” means engaging in a course of vexatious comment or conduct against a worker in a workplace that is known or ought reasonably to be known to be unwelcome. Harassment may include racial, ethnic, sexual, bullying and psychological intimidation. 

Workplace harassment may involve conduct that is verbal or non-verbal, a single incident or a series of incidents. Workplace harassment can be directed at a co-worker, subordinate or manager.

Workplace harassment does not include decisions or actions relating to the worker’s employment, including a decision to change the work to be performed or the working conditions, to discipline the worker or to terminate the worker’s employment.

There is a workplace harassment program that addresses reporting procedures, investigation process, information disclosure and follow up.

If reasonable to do so, workers are encouraged to try to resolve the situation with the person who is alleged to have engaged in the harassment. Where the situation cannot be resolved or the situation continues, workers shall report the conduct to their manager or designated employee.

Fusion will investigate and deal with all incidents and complaints of workplace harassment in a fair and timely manner. All complaints shall be handled in a confidential manner.

Fusion Workplace Violence Policy

Fusion is committed to the prevention of workplace violence. Any act of violence committed by or against any member of our workplace is unacceptable conduct that will not be tolerated. A worker that subjects another worker, client, or other person to workplace violence may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Fusion will take reasonable and practical measures to prevent violence and protect workers from acts of violence. Everyone is expected to uphold this policy and to work together to prevent workplace violence.

Workplace violence is:

  • the exercise of physical force by a person against a worker, in a workplace, that causes or could cause physical injury to the worker,
  • an attempt to exercise physical force against a worker, in a workplace, that could cause physical injury to the worker,
  • a statement or behaviour that it is reasonable for a worker to interpret as a threat to exercise physical force against the worker, in a workplace, that could cause physical injury to the worker.

There is a workplace violence program that addresses risk assessment and control, summoning immediate assistance, reporting procedures, and investigation process.

All workers are encouraged to raise any concerns about workplace violence and to report any violent incidents or threats immediately to a supervisor or manager.

Fusion will investigate and deal with all incidents and complaints of workplace violence in a fair and timely manner.
